A proper review of the Ford F-150 requires a deep dive into the legendary performance of this truck. At Ray Price Ford, we want to deliver the insight you're looking for as you consider new models. So our 2021 Ford F-150 review discusses the various engine options of this truck, looks at the F-150 overall capabilities such as towing and payload, and briefly touches on the new technologies for 2021.

We'll also be happy to let you review the truck in person with a test run near Mount Pocono, Tobyhanna, Scranton, Pocono Pines, and Blakeslee, Pennsylvania.

Expansive Engine Lineup

Ford always does what it can to provide options for popular models such as the Ford F-150. For 2021, the truck utilizes a 6-engine lineup, with options ranging from potent V6 setups to a heavy-duty V8 classic. Also, for the first time in the full-size truck segment, you can now choose a hybrid motor, thanks to the 3.5L hybrid of the F-150.

With the hybrid in place, your truck will make 430 horsepower and 570 lb-ft of torque, the highest outputs of any 2021 performance arrangement. For the V8, there's a 5.0L offering that makes 400 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque.

After those two engines, you have four V6 options to pick from:

  • 3.3L V6- making 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque
  • 2.7L V6- making 325 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque
  • 3.5L EcoBoost® V6- making 400 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque
  • 3.0L Power Stroke® V6- making 250 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque

Maximum Towing and Payload

The feats of the 2021 Ford F-150 continue to improve over time. For 2021, your truck will display astounding abilities when asked to tow or haul heavy loads. The maximum conventional towing capacity is a hefty 14,000 pounds. For payload, the maximum checks in at 3,325 pounds.

If you went with the hybrid motor as your power plant, you can still expect impressive capabilities such as 12,700 pounds of maximum towing capacity and 2,120 pounds of maximum payload.

Intuitive Interior Technology

Ford went above and beyond when outfitting the F-150 with modern, intuitive technology. The cabin is an easy place to unwind, thanks to all the features and helpful systems at your disposal.

SYNC® 4 is the infotainment interface you'll be working with. The touchscreen display that SYNC® 4 is connected to can be as large as 12 inches. Connective technology is abundant as well. A good example is FordPass™ Connect, which pairs your smartphone to the truck, giving you unique capabilities such as the option to lock, unlock, or start your truck remotely.
